Adding a Chat Client to Your PaxPortal
Looking to add a chat client to your PaxPortal? It’s a great way to improve communication and make it easier for your customers to reach you. The setup process is simple - just follow the steps below to configure your chat client, customize its appearance, and get it up and running.
Accessing the Chat Client
Click on "PaxPortal" and then click on "PaxPortal settings"
Next click "Chat Client" - you can also scroll down to the bottom of the page.
How to add HelpScout Chat Client.
Start off by choosing HelpScout in the drop down.
Next you need to add the Beacon ID from HelpScout.
Finding the Beacon ID in HelpScout
In HelpScout click on Manage and then click on Beacons.
You need to create a New Beacon
Once you have created the Beacon click on "Installation" on the left hand side of the screen.
and copy the highlighted portion - the text that is inside the round brackets excluding the ' in the beginning and the end.
Agents need to be Available for Chat Client to work.
Make sure that your agents mark themself "Available" on the chat for the chat client to work.
Adding the HelpScout Beacon ID to PaxFlow
Add the Beacon ID you just copied inside HelpScout to the field in PaxFlow.
You can also adjust the Primary Color of the chat client by clicking on the color field and choose your preferred color - or you can add the HTML Color Code in the text field.
You can also choose if the chat client is on the bottom right or bottom left. Make sure to slide the "Publish" toggle to publish your Chat Client.
And click on "Save" to activate the Chat Client.
Viewing the HelpScout Chat Client on PaxPortal.
To access PaxPortal open up any booking and click on "Open on PaxPortal"
Let´s take a look at what it looks like on PaxPortal. Click the chat bubble.
The chat window will open up and now your customers can send you a message via HelpScout chat on PaxPortal.
