Using QR codes allows you to efficiently scan passengers before arrival and at the start of the tour, ensuring a smooth check-in process. This not only reduces manual errors but also enhances the guest experience by providing a quick and contactless way to confirm bookings.
Let´s take a look at how to create a professional email template that includes a QR code for passenger check-in.
Start off by Clicking on "Messages" and then click on "E-mail Templates"
Creating a New Template
Next you want to click on "New Template"
Fill out Template Settings, Template Title, Purpose and Description and then click on "Open Template Editor"
Adding QR code to the template
Edit the template to your liking - to add in the QR code you need to add an image field and click on it. There is already an image field in the base template.
Click the "Url" field and copy in this link: https://api.qrserver.com/v1/create-qr-code/?size=150x150&data={{activity.activityCode}}
Once the link is copied then you can see the QR code in the template. This link generates a QR code based on the activity code, so once sent out to your customer it generates the correct QR code.
Adding PaxPortal Magic Links to E-mail Templates
You can also add a PaxPortal magic link to the template - let´s add it to this button
Type an @ sign and type PaxPortal booking link - then you click on the parameter "PaxPortal Booking Link"
Copy the parameter [[PaxPortal Booking Link]]
And paste it into the URL field highlighted.
You can also change the text in the button to your liking.
Once you are happy with your template click on "Save"
Finish setting up the template
Next make sure to insert Sending Settings. Subject, Preview text and Reply to email address.
Once you have finished setting up your template make sure to click on "Create"
Then your new template will appear at the top of the templates list.
