When integrating your phone number with the WhatsApp Business API through PaxFlow, it is important to understand that the connection is exclusive. below are explanations on what happens during the connection process, and what limitations apply once your number is connected to PaxFlow’s WhatsApp infrastructure. One Number, One Integration.

WhatsApp enforces a strict single-provider model. When a number is registered with the WhatsApp Business API via PaxFlow:

  • The number becomes permanently associated with a single WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

  • All message sending and receiving is routed exclusively through PaxFlow’s API environment.

  • Only one service provider can be connected to a number at any given time.

This ensures message consistency, compliance, and security, but it also introduces key limitations.

Incompatibility with WhatsApp App
Once a number is connected to the WhatsApp Business API:

  • You cannot use the same number in the WhatsApp mobile or desktop app (consumer or business versions).

  • Do not attempt to log in to WhatsApp using the number once it has been registered through PaxFlow.

  • PaxFlow's infrastructure and the WhatsApp apps are mutually exclusive for any given number.

Restrictions on Other Platforms and Providers
After registration with PaxFlow:

  • The number cannot be registered with another WhatsApp Business API provider.

  • Integration with other third-party services that require direct WhatsApp registration (such as alternative CRM platforms, bot providers, or support tools) must go through PaxFlow.

  • Registering the number elsewhere or connecting it to multiple providers will result in connection failures or deregistration.

Operational Guidelines
To ensure uninterrupted service and avoid integration issues

  • Use a dedicated phone number for your WhatsApp Business API integration.

  • Do not attempt to log in to WhatsApp using the number once it has been registered through PaxFlow.

  • you can use the conversation interface in PaxFlow to message customers.

  • Contact PaxFlow support if you're unsure whether a tool or platform is compatible.

Deregistration and Migration
If you need to use the number on another platform or restore it for use in the WhatsApp app:

  1. Request deregistration of the number from PaxFlow.

  2. Remove the number from your WABA in Meta Business Manager.

  3. Wait for Meta’s release period to expire (typically 1 to 3 days).

  4. Register the number with the new environment or platform.

Note: Messaging history, configurations, and contact data may not be transferable across providers.
